IONIA, Mich. – An employee died in an industrial accident Tuesday, according to Ionia Public Safety officials. It happened at Ventra Main which is located on N Beardsley Street at about 2:20 p.m.
The woman has been identified as Wanda Holbrook, 57, of Grand Rapids. She had worked at Ventra for 12 years in the Maintenance Department.
She was apparently trapped by robotic machinery and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ionia Department of Public Safety has started an investigation into the incident and will be working with Michigan’s Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration (MiOSHA).
