MSP Fugitive Team seeking tips in search for fugitive

UPDATE:  Ja-tai Cummings was arrested on July 4th in Battle Creek by Battle Creek Police Officer Cody Longon.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. —  Detectives with the Battle Creek Police Department are working with the Michigan Department of Corrections and the Michigan State Police 5th District Fugitive Team to find a fugitive who has avoided arrest.

Ja-tai Nicholas-Rafano Cummings, 19, is wanted for a parole violation, weapons offenses and for home invasion. He’s 5’9″, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

His online arrest record with the Michigan State Police shows prior convictions of breaking and entering into a building with intent, and possession of marijuana.  Both those crimes happened in Calhoun County in 2013.
