COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. - A Kent County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a crash with another vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say that the officer was at a stop sign at the intersection of Stony Creek Avenue and Lamoreaux Drive NW when a Alpine Twp. resident driving a Hummer failed to negotiate the curve in the road and hit the deputy's cruiser almost head-on.
The driver told deputies that he was coming home from a long day at work and fell asleep behind the wheel. He was cited for being at-fault.
No injuries are reported.
