TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — One person was taken to the hospital following a crash Thursday afternoon.
It happened just after 5:00 p.m. on Leonard Road west of 24th Avenue in Tallmadge Township.
A 32-year-old woman was traveling west on Leonard Road, when she reached down to scratch her leg and lost control. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said s the driver hit a tree, before reentering the roadway and narrowly missing a Jeep. The driver of the jeep, a 71-year-old man from Norton Shores, came to rest in a small field. The man was not hurt.
Police said the woman was cited for careless driving. She was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
