GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 56-year-old man who was critically injured Wednesday when his motorcycle was hit by a van has died, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Tamarack Lane. The motorcyclist, identified as Grand Haven Township resident Mark Taylor, was waiting to turn onto Tamarack when the van hit his motorcycle, investigators said.
Officials with the sheriff’s department said Taylor was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury in the crash. He was flown to the hospital by Aero Med and pronounced dead on Friday.
The driver of the van, a 21-year-old Waterford woman, was not injured.
