GRPD introduces three new K9 teams

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Police have three new K9 units on the job.

Officer Jeff Dionne and Atos and Officer Peter Thompson and Kilo started Sunday in the West Service Area.  Officer Doug Stevens and Jack started Sunday in the South Service Area.  All three teams are on the night shift and GRPD now has K9 teams on duty 24-hours a day.

The three teams recently completed eight weeks of training and passed internal GRPD standards.

GRPD now has eight K9 teams.
