KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A deputy with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department was arrested in Kalamazoo over the weekend after allegedly driving while intoxicated.
According to a release, the as-yet unidentified deputy was involved in a crash Saturday morning in the area of Douglas Avenue and Forbes Street. They were arrested at the scene.
The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor announced Tuesday that the deputy will charged with four misdemeanors:
- Attempted Resisting and Obstructing an Officer
- Operating While Intoxicated
- Failure to Stop After Collision
- Possession of a Firearm While Under the Influence
The deputy’s name will be released pending formal arraignment. The deputy is currently on administrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation, according to a release from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department.
