SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Deputies say a man was injured in an assault Saturday morning.
According to officials, they responded to the assault at a residence near M 62 in Silver Creek Township at 1:16 a.m.
Joey McGauvran, 29, of Dowagiac was found at the scene and had sustained multiple lacerations from an edged weapon. The weapon is believed to have been a box cutter. He was then transported to a local hospital.
Deputies say the suspect, a 24 year old male, was arrested after the deputies finished the initial investigation. He is now in Cass County Jail.
Cass County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dowagiac Police Dept., Pokagon Tribal Police Dept., and Pride Care Ambulance.
The case remains under investigation at this time.
