GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A wrong-way driver that caused a fatal collision has been sentenced to at least 3 1/2 years in prison.
Michelle Lerma was sentenced to 43 months to 15 years in prison for driving drunk in September 2014 on I-96 near Plainfield Avenue. Her vehicle hit another car head-on, killing Greg Johnson of Grass Lake.
Lerma’s blood-alcohol content at the time of the crash was more than twice the legal limit of .08.
