SUV catches on fire after crash

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich.– Two men were taken to a local hospital after an accident on Douglas Ave. just East of 144th Ave. late Friday night.

Deputies say a 55-year-old man, driving a Ford Explorer crossed over the median at high speeds hitting a Chevy Silverado. The Explorer then rolled over and caught on fire.

Officials say, the two drivers were removed from their vehicles by witnesses and both were taken to a local hospital.

The driver of the Explorer was treated for a back and leg injury. He was released and sent to the Ottawa County jail and faces charges. Meanwhile, deputies say 42-year-old, Ryan Hickman, is in stable condition.

Officials say the name of the Explorer driver will not be released until he is charged.
