West Michigan – A cold front moving through the Great Lakes will bring the chance of strong to severe weather on Friday. All of West Michigan is a “Marginal Risk” for severe thunderstorms for Friday and Friday night according to the Storm Prediction Center.
Friday will start dry with an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms by mid afternoon. By Friday evening, thunderstorms are likely for West Michigan with some storms producing strong winds and hail.
The cold front will slide into West Michigan early Saturday morning with widespread rain and scattered thunderstorms. We could still see a few stronger storms for early Saturday.
The cold front move south of the state during the afternoon with showers and thunderstorms ending late. Rainfall amounts for parts of West Michigan could approach one inch from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
