GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grand Rapids Police are investigating the death of 20-year-old man on Grand Rapids' southeast side.
Jalen Braswell-Thompson was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in a driveway in the 500 block of Howard Street SE at about 6:45 a.m. Thursday. He later died at the hospital.
Neighbors say that Braswell-Thompson was not from their neighborhood. The home where he was found is a multi-family rental unit. Neighbors say that the area is a very tight-knit block with most families knowing each other.
“It’s just sad, it’s very sad, it really is," said Christina Sparkman, a grandmother worried for her family who live nearby.
FOX 17's crew on the scene says they saw at least two people being taken for questioning by officers. Neighbors also tells that police are looking for a man who apparently took off in his girlfriend's car outside the home where the man was found.
GRPD said they are investigating whether or not playing and losing a dice game led to this shooting.
