EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Officers with the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety are warning residents to stay clear of downed trees and power lines in the area of Franklin School.

Officers say residents have alerted authorities to the issue via their Facebook page.

According to the Consumers Energy outage map, there are nearly 1,000 people without power in the area where these downed lines and trees are being reported.

It’s unclear whether these downed trees and lines are the source of the outage.

Power is expected to be restored by 6:00 p.m.
