BETHESDA, Md. — The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recalls of several items this week, including child safety gates sold exclusively at IKEA, as well as certain cribs that violate lead paint standards.

PATRULL KLÄMMA and PATRULL SMIDIG Safety Gates (sold exclusively at IKEA) — The friction between the wall and the pressure-mounted safety gate is insufficient to hold the gate in its intended position, posing a fall hazard. In addition, the lower metal bar can be a tripping hazard. About 58,000 units are impacted in the U.S. There have been 18 incidents worldwide, including three incidents in which children have been injured as a result of falling down stairs. Baby’s Dream Cribs, furniture and accessories with vintage grey paint finish — The vintage grey paint on the cribs, furniture, and accessories exceeds federal lead limits. About 4,600 cribs and furniture pieces are impacted. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately contact Baby’s Dream to arrange for an exchange. Schylling ‘Police Press and Go’ Toy Vehicles — The hat can detach from the policeman’s head and pose a choking hazard to young children. About 13,200 units are impacted.
