Posted

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich.–Sheriff’s deputies said a biker was injured after a vehicle hit him Friday evening.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at 84th Ave. and Second St. in Keeler Township. Apparently, a 54-year-old man was riding his motorcycle when another vehicle pulled into his lane, hitting him. Officials said he wasn’t wearing a helmet, and was taken to a local hospital where, at last check, he was listed in stable but serious condition.

Deputies said the driver of the car that hit the motorcycle, an 18-year-old woman, wasn’t injured in the crash.

The case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office to see if charges should be filed. Officials said they’re still trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call them at 269-657-3101.
