Airbags used to free Montague student hit, pinned by van

MONTAGUE – A male student from Montague High School is being treated for injuries after firefighters say he was hit and pinned underneath a van in a school parking lot Friday evening.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the school just after 10:00 p.m.

Firefighters say they used airbags to lift the van off the student and extricate him to safety.  The student was said to be alert and talking to rescuers before being transported to the hospital by the White Lake Ambulance Authority.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
