BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A man had to be flown to the hospital after police say he wrecked his Corvette on I-94 late Monday night.
It happened just before 9:00 p.m. as the man was entering Westbound I-94 via the Capital ramp (mile marker 97). Police say he lost control due to high speeds, went off the road, and slammed into a tree.
The 64-year-old driver had to be pulled from the car, and was flown to the hospital with head injuries. His condition is unknown.
He had a 12-year-old passenger in the car with him, but that individual was not injured.
I-94 was closed in both directions for approximately 90 minutes as a result of the crash.
Police said both occupants were wearing their seat belts, which likely saved both of their lives.
