LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — All four occupants of a vehicle suffered injuries — including the driver who had to be flown to the hospital — after an accident in St. Joseph County.

The crash happened Monday evening on Schweitzer Road near Holtom Road in Lockport Township.  Police say a Pontiac passenger car entered a curve at a high rate of speed, lost control, and flipped over several times.  The three passengers in the car suffered minor injuries, and were described as a 16-year-old female, and two males aged 23 and 17, all from Three Rivers.

The driver, identified only as an 18-year-old woman from Sturgis, was reportedly not wearing her seat belt.  She suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.  Her condition is unknown.  Police say she was at fault, and faces a citation for careless driving.
