Suspect identified following police chase, crash

OCEANA COUNTY – A 32-year-old Montague man is facing charges following a high-speed police chase in Oceana County on Sunday.

Ronald Lawrence Hunter was arrested shortly after crashing and flipping the pickup truck he was driving on Sunday afternoon.

Investigators released dash camera video of the pursuit, which ended after Hunter struck a patrol vehicle and lost control, sliding off the road into a ditch before striking a power pole and overturning.

Hunter, 32, was currently on probation according to his online record with the Michigan Department of Corrections following convictions for Uttering & Publishing and False Report of a Felony.

Charges for the Sunday chase include Fleeing & Eluding and Assault on a Police Officer.  Additional charges are also being sought by the Montague Police Department and authorities in Muskegon County.
