KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- One shot was fired but no one was injured during a robbery at the Marathon station at 605 E. Michigan Avenue in Kalamazoo early Wednesday.
Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were dispatched at roughly 5:00 a.m. to the location, but they didn't arrive in time to catch the crooks, who got some cash and merchandise and ran off on foot.
According to a release, the first suspect is described as a heavy set black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. He was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, police said.
The second suspect is described as a medium build black male, who was also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head. He was wearing dark jeans and was also in possession of a handgun, police said.
About five hours earlier, the nearby Checkers was robbed by a man with a knife, but, after a struggle, the suspect was held until police arrived.
