BATTLE CREEK, Mich.–If you live and work in the Battle Creek area, police have a warning for you about counterfeit $20 bills.
On Wednesday, police recovered a number of fake $20 bills from a number of different incidents in the area. Here’s what to look out for: the bills all share the serial number JF90418055B.
Police say these are not sophisticated fakes, and the bogus bills don’t have water marks or other security features that are found on legal $20s.
Residents and businesses are asked to inspect any $20 bills they receive to check for the counterfeit serial number and other suspicious characteristics. Police say the case is being forwarded to the Detective Bureau for more investigation.
