CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- Missing fisherman Kurt DeYoung was found alive six days after he went out on Diamond Lake in his boat and disappeared, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Department.

DeYoung, 46, was found Tuesday not far from where officials recovered his empty pontoon boat over the weekend.  Officials said he was located on a pier by a dive team just after 11 a.m.  and was rushed to the hospital.

Officials said DeYoung went fishing last Wednesday and never returned.  They initially said he may have been working on the motor on the back of the boat and fallen overboard, but have not determined what exactly happened to him.   His boat was recovered on Saturday.

The case remains under investigation.
