ISABELLA COUNTY, Mich. — A Virginia man was killed and seven other people were injured after a taxi collided with another vehicle near Soaring Eagle Casino Friday morning.
According to Michigan State Police, the crash happened at about 1:47 a.m. in the area of S. Summerton Road and Broadway.
Officials said a southbound vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Virginia man ran a flashing red light and was hit by an eastbound taxi carrying five passengers.
A 26-year-old passenger in the Virginia man’s vehicle was killed in the crash. Both drivers and all of the passengers in the taxi were taken to the hospital with injuries.
According to a release, none of the passengers in the taxi were wearing seat belts.
