Portsmouth, Va. (WTKR) – A 37-year-old sailor who has been missing for 66 days, was finally located on a capsized sailboat 200 miles off the North Carolina coast.
The Coast Guard medevaced Louis Jordan who was reported missing by his family on January 29th when he hadn’t been seen or heard from in about a week.
A German-flagged motor boat named “Houston Express” told the Coast Guard that they spotted Jordan about 200 miles east of Cape Hatteras and brought him onto their boat.
Crews launched a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Elizabeth City to meet the Houston Express. They took Jordan to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk. WTKR reports the sailor had a shoulder injury, but was in good condition.
