MUSKEGON, Mich. — A second driver has been taken into custody for a deadly hit-and-run accident in January.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office told FOX 17 NEWS that a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death was filed Friday against Jared Chumley.
Chumley turned himself in Friday and was arrested. He will be arraigned at 9:45 a.m. April 8.
Chumley is one of two drivers who allegedly hit Rory Deshawn Robinson the night of Jan. 31 in Muskegon and then fled the scene. Robinson, 28, died Feb. 3 after being struck by two different vehicles near the intersection of Apple Avenue and Stevens Street three days earlier.
The driver of the second vehicle, 33-year-old Ronna Lifer, stopped and called police after hitting Robinson. She has been charged with drugged driving for allegedly taking prescription pills and smoking marijuana prior to the crash.
