GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police in Grand Rapids are trying to piece together the circumstances behind a shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital early Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to the sound of multiple shots fired in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Crosby Street NW at around 1:00 a.m. When they arrived, they located a pistol and bicycle on the ground. Initially, there were no victims or suspects.
Fifteen minutes into their investigation, officers found a 17-year-old male hiding in some bushes near a home with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay.
