Mulder and Scully are coming back.
FOX announced Tuesday that The X-Files will return as a six-episode event series helmed by creator Chris Carter.
Stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will also return as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
Production on the new episodes will begin this summer. A release date has not been determined.
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” Carter said in a release. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
The X-Files originally premiered in September 1993 and ran for nine seasons.
