March Madness: MSU beats Georgia 70-63

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Four Michigan State players scored in double figures as the Spartans held off a late Georgia rally for a 70-63 win in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

Denzel Valentine led the way with 16 points including going 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the game's final minute.  Travis Trice scored 15 points, Branden Dawson and Bryn Forbes each scored 14 for Michigan State which led 35-22 at halftime.

Tom Izzo improves to 7-0 all-time against SEC teams in the NCAA tournament, that includes a win over Florida in the 2000 national championship game.

The win is the 60th NCAA Tournament win in program history for Michigan State, becoming the 8th school to reach that plateau.

The Spartans will play the 2-seed, Virginia Sunday in Charlotte.  The Cavaliers beat Belmont, 79-67, on Friday.
