Winter Weather Advisory for West Michigan

West Michigan – A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect for West Michigan from 7AM to 8PM Tuesday. A storm system will track to the west of the state bringing a brief surge of milder air into parts of Michigan.

Forecast model 8am Thursday

Snow will develop late tonight and by 8AM Tuesday, light to moderate snow will be falling over most of West Michigan. That snow will continue for several hours before slowly mixing with, or changing to some sleet and freezing rain.

Computer model 2pm Tuesday

 

By early afternoon, most of the snow will be located north of I-96 with light freezing rain and sleet south. Some areas along and south of I-94 will change to rain by early afternoon. All significant precipitation will end by early evening Tuesday. 

Snowfall amounts will range from 1-3 inches along and south of I-96 to 2-4 inches north. Freezing rain or drizzle amounts should be less than 0.10″.
