GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- – West Michigan’s Most Wanted and Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson continue working to honor the men and women who go above the call of duty – and this week’s Hero of the Week comes to us from the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Officer Kurt Hintz is an 18-year veteran of the force, a firearms instructor, and member of the honor guard.
A Marine Corp veteran, Officer Hintz spent six years as an officer in Houston and four working presidential security at the White House under Presidents Reagan and Bush.
Even with all his professional accolades, but it’s what he does in his free time that his peers say sets him apart.
Officer Hintz works tirelessly raising money for The Thin Blue Line — an organization helping families of fallen officers — in addition to organizing the annual Robert Kozminski Memorial Softball Tournament.
Officer Hintz is also actively involved in VETsports — a nationwide nonprofit helping veterans through sports and physical activity. All of this makes him our Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson Hero of the Week.
Congratulations to Officer Hintz!
