GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – Grand Rapids Police detectives have released the identity of a young man who was shot and killed Thursday night, and jail records indicate the 23-year-old was released from jail the day prior to his death.

Lamont Corzell McFall was found slumped over in the passenger side of a Chevy Cruze in the 1200 block of Jefferson Avenue just after 7:00 p.m. Thursday night after gunfire was reported in the area.

First responders attempted to revive McFall, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators say McFall suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the shooting.  Detectives are still working to identify who’s responsible for what is now Grand Rapids first homicide investigation of 2015.

Online jail records indicate McFall was released from the Kent County Jail on Wednesday after serving several months on drug related charges.
