Mayweather fighting Pacquiao on May 2

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Floyd Mayweather has announced that he will meet Manny Pacquiao in May.

Mayweather confirmed Friday evening that the title bout the boxing world has been waiting on for years “is a done deal” and will take place May 2.

“I promised the fans we would get this done and we did,” Mayweather said on the social media platform Shots, along with a picture of what he said was a contract signed by both fighters. ” We will make history on May 2nd. Don’t miss it.”

Mayweather, 37, is a native of Grand Rapids and is the world welterweight champion while Pacquiao, 36, hails from the Philippines.  Mayweather’s record is 47-0 while Pacquiao stands 57-5-2.
