EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–The Special Olympics have cancelled the ‘polar plunge’ part of their event Saturday morning, but the festivities surrounding it will continue.
This is due to poor weather conditions affecting the region.
Staff and volunteers will still be on hand to run the “After Splash Bash,” now being called the “No Splash Bash,” so plungers can pick up their plunge shirts and enjoy a meal. There will be a costume contest, and awards will be given out for top fundraising and best costumes.
The Grand Rapids Trolley Co. will do their best to shuttle guests from the East Grand Rapids High School parking lot to the middle school, where activities will be held.
Registrants for the Grand Rapids Polar Plunge will also be able to pick up their shirts at Buffalo Wild Wings at a date and locations to be determined later.
