New information on the hunt for ‘Butch’ Knight

Posted

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Federal authorities have released new information on the manhunt for suspected killer Harold “Butch” Knight.

Knight, 66, is wanted in connection with the Jan. 13 killing of his wife, Sara Knight, in Ganges Township. The last information released was regarding Knight changing his appearance, while in camouflage coveralls with a dyed mustache in Maine.

U.S. Marshals confirm Knight has been spotted outside Michigan on several occasions since the slaying. They now say Knight abandoned his wife’s vehicle in Franklin County, Maine, and checked into a motel in Rangeley, Maine.

Investigators also say Knight has connections to this part of Maine, that he and his wife previously lived 70 miles away from Rangeley before moving to Michigan.

Knight is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 245 pounds with hazel eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Knight’s whereabouts is being asked to contact the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department at (269) 673-0500.
