WALKER, Mich. – A man was arrested following a high speed police chase Friday.
Michigan State Police said they saw a silver Honda speeding at 91mph going westbound on I-196 near College Avenue. The trooper pursued the driver, who tried to escape. When the suspect exited at the Lake Michigan Drive exit, the car crashed into another vehicle near Kinney Avenue in Walker.
State police said the suspect, a man in his early twenties, ran from the vehicle before being arrested and taken to a local hospital for observation.
The other people involved in the crash were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The suspect has a local misdemeanor warrant and multiple suspensions. Troopers said he’s now facing felony charges.
