BERRIEN TOWNSHIP, Mich.– The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and fire officials are investigating a house fire that killed one person.
It happened just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, at a home in the 7200 block of True Road.
According to the first deputy on scene, the home was engulfed in flames.
Once the fire was out, crews discovered a deceased body inside the residence.
An autopsy is scheduled to find the exact cause of death while the investigation continues to determine how that fire started.
Officials aren’t releasing the name of the person until the body can be positively identified and family is notified.
