MUSKEGON TWP., Mich.–Police investigating the homicide of 71-yera-old Dennis Robert McPherson have taken two people into custody in connection with his death. McPherson was found dead in his home in the 100 block of South Dangl Road around 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

Neighbors told FOX 17 they knew him only as “Denny,” a very giving man who was very friendly and helped them out whenever he could. Police say during the initial interviews of family and neighbors, an initial “person of interest” was identified and taken into custody. Later, a second person of interest was also identified and taken into custody. Police also conducted a third interview Sunday night, and the investigation continues.

Over the weekend the Medical Examiner performed the autopsy on McPherson, which indicate that he was killed by multiple skull fractures. The Michigan State Police Crime Lab will be conducting additional forensic work in this case.

Muskegon Township investigators say they are working with the County Prosecutor’s office and crime lab to examine all forensic evidence and determine the direction of the investigation.
