Old National Bank held up at gunpoint, suspect on run

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An Old National Bank in Oshtemo Township was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, a male with a silver semi-automatic handgun robbed the bank at 6338 Stadium Drive at 1:47 p.m. Thursday. He then fled in a black Chevrolet Impala that was waiting nearby, which was being driven by a second person.
 
As the suspect was getting away, a red dye pack exploded, causing him to drop the money on the ground.
 
The male suspect is described as being in his early 20s and from 5-feet-9 to 5-feet-11 in height with a skinny build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black ski mask, a black winter vest, a dark colored scarf and black gloves.
 
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to look for anyone with red dye stains on themselves, their clothing or in a vehicle.
