THREE RIVERS, Mich. — Two children were killed Wednesday during a mobile home fire in Three Rivers.
The fire was reported at 9:51 a.m. in the 100 block of S Erie Street, according to St. Joseph County Dispatch.
Three Rivers Fire Department said in a release that the victims were three and four years old. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Three Rivers Fire Chief Carl Holcomb, when emergency crews arrived at the scene of the fire, the victims’ mother told them that her children were trapped in a back bedroom.
The 24-year-old woman was hospitalized with severe burns. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
