Kalamazoo man stabbed in head and back with a bottle

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Officers were called to Hillcrest Mobile Home Community on the report of an assault at 5:00 A.M. this morning in Kalamazoo.

A 27-year-old Kalamazoo man assaulted a 28-year-old man From Las Cruces, New Mexico by punching him and striking him with a bottle. The 28-year-old then took the bottle, broke it over the 27 year old’s head, and then stabbed him in the back and head with it, also biting him several times. Both incidents took place in the home. Both men also have relatives that live inside the home.

Both men were transported to Borgess Medical Center for treatment. The 28-year-old Las Cruces man was treated for contusions and a laceration to his hand. He is being lodged in the Kalamazoo County Jail for attempted murder.

The 27-year-old man from Kalamazoo is still being treated for lacerations to his head, neck, and back. His injuries are non-lifethreatening.

This case is still under investigation.
