2 hurt in 3-car collision at Holland Township intersection

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at a township intersection at midday Monday.

At 12:10 p.m. Monday, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a three-car accident with injuries at the intersection of southbound U.S. 31 and Felch Street in Holland Township. Deputies said that Veng Cheng, 59, of Holland was southbound on U.S. 31 and failed to stop for a red traffic signal at the Felch Street intersection. Cheng entered the intersection and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Julia Hernandez, 46, of Holland and an eastbound car driven by Ben Andringa, 48, of Holland.

Both Andringa and Hernandez were crossing through the intersection with green traffic signals.

Cheng’s vehicle overturned in the intersection.

Cheng was transported by AMR Ambulance to Holland Hospital with minor injuries. Andringa also sustained minor injuries and sought his own treatment.

Hernandez was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
