The fire was reported at 7:31 a.m. Friday morning by a neighbor, Cathy Stone, who recognized a strange glow.

“And I went to let my dog out and I saw this weird light that shouldn’t have been there,” said  Stone.

Stone recognized it was a fire and immediately called 911. Fire fighters from both Dorr and Salem Township arrived to the fire, flames and smoke ripping through the roof. Chief Larry Hildenbrand of the Salem Township Fire Department said two victims were found incapacitated inside the home.

“Neither one was breathing when we removed them from the home so we gave them full CPR,” said Chief Hildenbrand.

Neighbors tell FOX 17 one of the victims was recently released from the hospital after having their hip replaced.

The victims were turned over to EMS and transported to a local hospital where they both died.

Chief Hildenbrand said the cause of the fire is still unknown. He anticipates a full investigation to start Monday.
