HOLLAND, Mich. — A Holland woman was killed Thursday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on 24th Street between Waverly and Country Club roads.
According to a police press release, Dolores Slikkers was driving westbound in the eastbound lane and was side-swiped by another westbound vehicle attempting to make a left turn.
Police say Slikkers’ vehicle left the road and hit a tree. She was taken to Holland Hospital and later died. The other driver, a 28-year-old Holland man, was not injured.
Preliminary investigation showed that Slikkers may have suffered a medical emergency that played a role in the crash, police said. However, that will not be confirmed until an autopsy is performed.
