BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A mother and her daughter were killed Friday in a house fire on Greenwood Avenue.
The fire took 17 firefighters to put out and destruction was so bad that some floors in the residence collapsed.
The first call was received around 12:45 a.m., and the scene was still active several hours later. Crews began demolishing the home just before 1 p.m.
