KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The man who police believe stabbed a 37-year-old woman in her apartment Sunday has been arrested.
Simmeon Campbell was taken into custody Tuesday in the area of Gull Road and Riverview Drive in Kalamazoo, according to a release from Kalamazoo Township Police.
Campbell, 28, is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in 8th District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder and armed robbery.
He’s accused of stabbing a female acquaintance Sunday evening at her apartment in the 2000 block of Elkerton Avenue.
The victim told police that she and Campbell got into an argument after he demanded money from her, and when she wouldn’t give it to him he stabbed her and took cash and her cell phone.
Her injuries were non-life threatening.
