Grand Rapids, Mich. - Thousands are flocking to the Delta Plex Arena this weekend for the 2014 Grand Rapids Comic-Con, where like-minded people wear costumes and buy comic-books.

The subculture of super heroes and comic books is a growing one, and comic- con is a place where the characters jump out of the comic books and come to life.

Mark Hodges, Event Coordinator, believes the comic-con brings in much more than people from out of town.

“It creates jobs, tourism and builds industry,” said Hodges. “There's 3-to-4 hotels that I know of in town that are sold out.”

The family friendly event houses an auto-show with replica bat mobiles, an art show, plenty of merchandise, and of course comic-books.

Tickets are still available and the event continues through Sunday the 22nd. So if you haven’t already, grab a costume and be somebody.
