GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two women who are generations apart from each other when it comes to age, have developed a heart-warming friendship while sharing a room at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.
Marion, currently 100 years old, now shares a room with Rebekah, who is only 21 years old.
“You’re always concerned. You wonder who you’ll get, you know?” says Marion. “And I was just really pleased ’cause she right away said who she was, where she came from, and ‘Where do you come from?’ you know?”
“We have our curtain tied back with a shoe lace,” says Rebekah, “so that when we’re laying in bed, we can talk to each other.”
