Man stabbed three times, suspect arrested

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- A man is recovering at the hospital after being stabbed Sunday afternoon.

According to Grand Rapids Police officers on the scene, the stabbing happened around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Lafayette St. and Spencer St. NE.

Officers say the 23-year-old victim was trying to buy marijuana, when the 58-year-old suspect ask for all of the victim’s money and that is when the stabbing happened.

The victim was stabbed three times in the back. The weapon was recovered at the scene.

The suspect was arrested a short time later and was taken to the Kent County Jail.

The victim was transported to a Grand Rapids hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
