WEST MICHIGAN — A cold front will drop into the Great Lakes bringing widespread rain showers Wednesday evening and Thursday.
Rain showers will be heavy at times especially for the first half of Thursday before diminishing early Thursday evening. Winds will switch out of the north by late afternoon helping usher in drier and much colder air. At this point, any left over precipitation would likely start to transition over to light snow showers however most of the moisture will be moving out of the area by then so the chance for a light rain-snow mix Thursday evening is very small.
Northerly winds will bring sunshine for Friday afternoon but temperatures will continue to fall into the weekend. Afternoon high temperatures will barely warm into the upper 30’s by Sunday and another reinforcing shot of cold air will keep temperatures ten to twenty degrees below average through next week.
