ALTO, Mich.- A 58-year-old man was trapped for six hours on Sunday after becoming pinned under a triple axle flat-bed trailer.

According to Kent County Sheriff’s Deputies at the scene tell FOX 17 that the accident happened in the 9800 block of 60th street near Alto around 11 a.m. Sunday morning. Neighbors around the storage facility were able to get the 56-year-old Albert Husiman, of Clarksville, free around 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon after a near-by hunter heard the man screaming for help.

Deputies state that Husiman was working on the brakes of the trailer, but the vehicle the trailer was attached to was left in drive. The trailer then rolled over on Husiman, trapping him underneath while he was trying to unlock an axle.

Husiman suffered severe leg and hand injuries and was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital for treatment. Deputies state that he has severe but non-life threatening injuries.

Husiman was working on the trailer at a storage facility for a Grand Rapids based company, where the man had worked for about 25 years according to deputies at the scene.
